Stephen Cortes forms the Cortes Law Firm
After 14 years of legal practice in both the public and private sector, Stephen Cortes announces the formation of the Cortes Law Firm in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This new law firm is going to be a challenging career change but with plenty of support along the way, success will be achieved. By not only having experienced lawyers, the firm will also need excellent marketing campaigns to get it off the ground.
The CORTES LAW FIRM offers statewide general legal services, including: Civil Litigation and Appeals, DUI and traffic violations, Native American law, Wills, Trusts, Probate, & Estate Planning, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Oil and Gas, Business Formation & Business Transactions, and Family Law.
The firm is centrally located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and is committed to offering effective, quality legal services in a timely manner.
Steve was Referee for the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals and later served as General Counsel to Governor Brad Henry. While working at the Governor's office, Steve was instrumental in drafting policy for both the governor and the legislature. Steve worked tirelessly defending Oklahoma principles in the final years of the Henry Administration and worked across the aisle to find solutions to benefit all Oklahomans.
Steve is a graduate of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation-Citizens' Academy and a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Leadership Oklahoma Class XIX.
Steve has worked with various non-profit organizations in Oklahoma City to raise much needed funds to help children, the homeless and the working poor. He currently is on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission.
Originally from El Paso, Texas, Steve found his home in Oklahoma City while attending law school at the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
