Essential Legal Documents for Your College Student

Most parents don't think about this and they're surprised to learn that they no longer have access to healthcare information for their college student.At 18 years old, your child is legally an adult. Parents can no longer make legal decisions for them. For a parent, their child will always be, well, their child. However, for a hospital or medical professional, they see them as an adult and they are prohibited from disclosing any healthcare information without the patient's consent.So when couples visit us for their estate planning needs, we always ask them, how many kids do you have in college?
