Stephen Cortes has over 14 years legal experience as an attorney in both the public and private sectors. Steve was Referee for the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals and later served as General Counsel to Governor Brad Henry.
While working at the Governor’s office, Steve was instrumental in drafting policy for both the governor and the legislature. Steve worked tirelessly defending Oklahoma principles in the final years of the Henry Administration and worked across the aisle to find solutions to benefit all Oklahomans.
Steve is a graduate of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation-Citizens’ Academy and a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Leadership Oklahoma Class XIX.
Steve has worked with various non-profit organizations in Oklahoma City to raise much needed funds to help children, the homeless and the working poor. He currently is on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission.
Originally from El Paso, Texas, Steve found his home in Oklahoma City while attending law school at the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
